Program Coordinator

Matt joined the Performance & Analytics Department in November of 2022 as a Data Science Program Coordinator. 

Prior to starting at the City of San Diego, he spent 10 years working with several Universities as a chemist and chemical biologist. In the lab, Matt studied a range of small molecules and their effects in various biological systems. During his time as a full-time father, he spent lots of sleepless nights studying to transition from a laboratory scientist to a data scientist. 

Matt graduated with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Seattle University, and also earned masters' degrees in both Chemistry and Computer Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
