Community and neighborhood parks, as well as certain trails in Open Space parks, are OPEN for passive purposes only (walking, jogging, or hiking) or for members from the same household to congregate. Community and neighborhood parks, as well as certain trails in Open Space parks, are OPEN for passive purposes only (walking, jogging, or hiking). Persons from the same household may also congregate in small groups as long as they are maintaining social distancing and facial covering guidelines.

Beginning Thursday, May 28, community, neighborhood and open space parking lots are fully open to their original capacity throughout the city. 


Mission Bay Park and the Central Mesa at Balboa Park and their parking lots remain closed until further notice.


Community and neighborhood park public basketball and tennis courts are now open. However, players must practice social distancing or be members of the same household. Failure to follow these requirements may result in closure of the courts.
