History of the Center

The Tecolote Recreation Center was built in 1968 on land that in the 1920s and '30s was one of the most popular motorcycle racing areas in the county. In the 1950s the land was used as a dairy farm. The owner of the dairy deeded his 7.8 acres to the City to be used primarily for youth baseball activities.
