Effective January 1, 2026, the City will welcome a new vision provider, EyeMed. EyeMed will be replacing the City’s VSP plan. For more information on this transition, review the FAQ page. EyeMed will provide two vision plan options that have the same network, but offer different coverage

Overview

EyeMed Silver*Mirrors the current VSP plan, providing essential/basic coverage.
EyeMed GoldOffers enhanced benefits and expanded coverage.

*Important: Employees currently enrolled in the City’s VSP plan will be automatically enrolled in the new EyeMed Silver Plan, unless they make a different vision plan election during the open enrollment window.

Premium Rates

Your City FBP credits are used to pay the premium cost of your selected benefit plans. Any premium costs in excess of your allocated FBP credits, will be deducted from wages on a pre-tax basis, unless otherwise noted below as a post-tax deduction for domestic partners that are not a tax dependent.

*Domestic partners can only be enrolled on a pre-tax basis if they qualify as a tax dependent under IRS guidelines. To enroll your Domestic Partner on a pre-tax basis, submit a Tax Dependent Certification form.
