Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP)
The Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) is a benefits program that incentivizes and encourages City employees to use sustainable forms of transportation including transit, carpools, vanpools, and bikes as their primary mode of transportation.
For employees utilizing a monthly pass benefit who are on city payroll.
The SANDAG Bike Services page provides information on bike parking and access to lockers, the Regional Bike Map, and cycling classes.
City of San Diego employees who carpool, vanpool, ride transit, walk, or bike to work are eligible to enroll in the SANDAG Guaranteed Ride Home program
The City will provide reimbursement to employees who have a monthly parking pass.
For employees commuting together daily in a vanpool and sharing expenses.
Volunteers and Interns
Volunteers and unpaid interns are eligible for the MTS U-Pass, which provides unlimited access to MTS Bus and Trolley services at no cost for as long as they are actively working for the City. Review the Volunteers and Unpaid Interns MTS U-Pass Enrollment information for details on how to enroll.
