Private Development Approvals

The Development Services Department website gives information under Development Process:Step-by-Step. The first steps in getting a project approval always includes filling out the Storm Water Requirements Applicability Checklist (PDF).

The final step is completion of the Permanent BMP Construction Self Certification Form (PDF) followed by final inspection.

Capital Improvement Projects

The Construction and Development Section of the Storm Water Division is available for project consultation at any stage. You can request a consultation by filling out the Project Consultation Form (to be posted online when available) and sending it to the Construction and Development Section of the Storm Water Division. All projects must be routed to this section during City-wide plan check, regardless of whether or not there had been a prior project consultation. The plan check by the Construction and Development Section is separate and in addition to the plan check by DSD. Documents required for plan check include relevant plan sheets, the Certification for Permanent Water Quality Improvements (to be posted online when available) and the project-specific Water Quality Technical Report if applicable.
