Bicycle Counters

In 2021 and 2022, the City installed a permanent "Eco-Counter" bicycle count station on Pacific Highway at West Beech Street Downtown and 30th Street south of University Avenue in North Park. The counter detects people on bikes and scooter users with in-ground loops and displays daily and annual count totals. The data can be used in many ways:

  • To publicly show how many people are bicycling and make a statement that “bicyclists count.”
  • The 24/7 data can be used to analyze daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal patterns. This can be used to help extrapolate data from other counts

Here’s how you can see what’s happening:

  • GET COUNTED! Ride in the separate bikeway on either side of the street and watch the number increase!
  • Pacific Highway
  • 30th St
