1916 flood remains of the Old Town Bridge where it crossed the San Diego River in Mission Valley. The heavy rains and flood were ostensibly the work of the 'rainmaker' Charles Hatfield, who was hired by the San Diego City Council in an effort to get reservoirs filled.
