Filming and Photography
Commercial and professional photography or filming, including engagement and wedding photos, require a permit from the City of San Diego’s Special Events & Filming Department and are authorized at the discretion of library staff. Fees may apply.
Non-commercial photography and filming on library property are allowed as long as it does not impede the public from using the library or violate the SDPL Rules of Conduct. Please notify staff in advance to allow time for review. Staff may terminate any filming or photography in violation of the Rules of Conduct. Press Accommodation
Members of the press are encouraged to email the City of San Diego’s Communications Department at communications@sandiego.gov in advance of filming onsite at any San Diego Public Library location.
