Office of Child and Youth Success

Engaging Activities

The Office of Child and Youth Success can assist children, youth and families with finding meaningful connections in vulnerable communities. Connectedness with the community is vital to keeping individuals with a sense of being cared for and supported when their immediate circumstance is not providing for that type of environment.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, “Connectedness is an important protective factor for youth that can reduce the likelihood of a variety of health risk behaviors. Connectedness refers to a sense of being cared for, supported, and belonging, and can be centered on feeling connected to school, family, or other important people and organizations in their lives."
