The Risk Management Department oversees the insurance programs for the City. The City currently participates in pooled purchasing of insurance with counties and public entities in California through the Public Risk Innovation, Solutions, and Management or “PRISM”. In addition, the department acts in an advisory capacity with departments to assure that contracts contain risk transfer language and insurance requirements to protect the interests of the City. Risk Management is also active in insurance matters to facilitate business contracting with the City for Special Events.
