The plate on the side of the truck reads: 'With deep appreciation for your support and leadership rendered to Otay Mesa Road Widening Project, Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce, September 1997'. During 1997-1999, the City of San Diego widened Otay Mesa Road as a stop-gap measure until a full freeway was built parallel to and south of Otay Mesa Road. This was donated by the Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce.
