Mayor Gloria announces the signing of Assembly Bill 379, restoring penalties for loitering to purchase sex and strengthening protections for minors. The City reminds residents of upcoming deadlines to select trash bin sizes or transition to private service under Measure B. A sixth round of Bridge to Home funding will provide $15 million in gap financing to help create up to 300 affordable homes, adding to more than 2,100 already supported by the program.

The City is committing $15 million in new Bridge to Home funding to accelerate the creation of up to 300 additional affordable homes citywide.

Mayor Ends Summer Construction Ban, Advances Balboa Park Plans, and Welcomes New SDPD Recruits

The City repaired more than 500 miles of streets in FY2025, exceeding its goal and marking its most productive year for road work in a decade. Plans are advancing to redevelop Downtown’s Civic Center core into housing and public spaces, with progress on converting City-owned properties into affordable homes. The Safe Parking Program expanded to nearly 400 spaces, including for oversized vehicles, while enforcement increased to protect beach access. San Diego is also a finalist to host the 2029 Invictus Games, highlighting its proud military heritage.
