San Diego Expands Housing and Advances Midway Rising Project

The City released its 2025 Annual Report on Homes showing 8,782 homes permitted in 2024—double the long-term average and over 31,000 permitted since 2021. The Planning Commission unanimously advanced the Midway Rising redevelopment, which includes 4,000+ homes—half affordable—and a new world-class sports arena. San Diego also secured state funding for four Bridge to Home projects, bringing 380 affordable homes closer to reality.
