Annual Quality Assurance Reports

The Environmental Monitoring and Technical Services (EMTS) Division of the City of San Diego Public Utilities Department (PUD) performs comprehensive Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) procedures. These procedures ensure the accuracy and reliability of data collected from receiving waters monitoring and toxicity testing. Furthermore, these QA/QC procedures ensure the quality and consistency of field sampling, laboratory analysis, record keeping, data entry, and electronic data collection/ transfer, as well as data analysis and reporting. The procedures are regularly reviewed and revised as necessary to reflect ongoing changes in permit requirements, sample collection methods, technology, and applicability of new analytical methods. To meet National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit requirements, the City submits results from all QA procedures to the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board (SDRWQCB) and the US EPA on an annual basis.
