New Permit Programs
City Initiatives - Water Quality Improvement Plans
The City is working with other Responsible Agencies and stakeholders throughout the San Diego Region to develop Water Quality Improvement Plans for watersheds within our jurisdiction. The plans identify problems and solutions that the City will implement for improving water quality tailored to each watershed and are a requirement described in the Municipal Storm Water Permit. These plans identify goals and strategies for addressing priority water quality conditions in each watershed. The public has opportunities to comment on throughout the approval and adoption process as noted in the schedule below:
- December 2014 - Second Deliverable Due to Regional Board
- January 2015 - Public Comment Period
- February/March 2015 - CEQA 30-day Public Comment Period
- May 20, 2015 - Presentation of WQIP and JRMP to Environmental Committee
- June 16, 2015 - Presentation of WQIP and JRMP to City Council
- June 2015 - Final WQIP and JRMP Due to Regional Board
- June - July 2015 - Public Comment Period
Water Quality Improvement Plans for each watershed within the City?s jurisdiction are available for review as of February 20th under the CEQA 30-day Public Comment Period. Interested persons wishing to submit comments on the following documents need to review the public notice here. If you have previously submitted comments on the WQIPs through the recent Regional Water Quality Control Board public review process, your comments have been addressed and incorporated into the documents below, as appropriate. Response to Comments tables will be posted to the regional Project Clean Water website as soon as they are available.
