New Permit Programs

City Initiatives - Water Quality Improvement Plans

The City is working with other Responsible Agencies and stakeholders throughout the San Diego Region to develop Water Quality Improvement Plans for watersheds within our jurisdiction. The plans identify problems and solutions that the City will implement for improving water quality tailored to each watershed and are a requirement described in the Municipal Storm Water Permit. These plans identify goals and strategies for addressing priority water quality conditions in each watershed. The public has opportunities to comment on throughout the approval and adoption process as noted in the schedule below:

  • December 2014 - Second Deliverable Due to Regional Board
  • January 2015 - Public Comment Period
  • February/March 2015 - CEQA 30-day Public Comment Period

  • June 16, 2015 - Presentation of WQIP and JRMP to City Council
