How to Purchase
Specialized garden products are now available at the Miramar Greenery including a variety of compost, mulch and wood chip products.
City of San Diego residents may self-load up to two cubic yards of compost or mulch for free with proof of residency. There is a charge for this product if Greenery staff loads the compost or mulch. There is also a charge for wood chips.
Fees must be paid at the Miramar Landfill fee booth located at the landfill's entrance. Please note: Pricing is subject to change. Prices shown on this webpage are current. Documents with old prices will not be honored.
All Greenery products are priced by the cubic yard and include sales tax. One cubic yard is equal to the size of six 32-gallon trash cans.
How to Pick Up Compost, Mulch, and Wood Chips
Customers pay for products at the landfill entrance and pick up materials at the Miramar Greenery after showing their receipt. Those who hand-load mulch or compost need to provide their own tools such as a shovel, container and tarp. Those who paid for compost, wood chips or mulch will have their vehicle loaded by one of the Greenery equipment operators. All vehicles must have their loads covered. It is advised to bring and wear a dust mask while loading and spreading the material.

Payment Information
- RESIDENTS: The Miramar Landfill and Greenery accepts checks and credit card transactions.
- CURRENT CUSTOMERS: Current customers that maintain accounts, including franchise haulers, city forces and the US Navy, will still be able to conduct business at the landfill and greenery.
