Financial Assistance Program - Solid Waste Management Fee

The City of San Diego's Environmental Services Department (ESD) has partnered with the Metropolitan Area Advisory Committee on Anti-Poverty of San Diego County, Inc. (MAAC) to launch a financial assistance program designed to assist property owners subject to the Solid Waste Management Fee who demonstrate financial need, including households that meet income-based eligibility criteria or participate in qualifying assistance programs.

To receive assistance, a property owner must apply for the program and receive approval. Assistance requires an application and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to available funding. Applications for Fiscal Year 2027 are open, and the deadline to apply is April 30, 2027.

For in-person assistance with the online application, please choose from the following clinics: 

• Oct. 28, noon to 6 p.m., Allied Gardens Recreation Center, 5155 Greenbrier Ave., 92120
• Nov. 7, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., City Heights/Weingart Library, 3795 Fairmount Ave., 92105
• Nov. 17, 2 to 7:30 p.m., Skyline Hills Library, 7900 Paradise Valley Road, 92139
