Ordinances

The City Council takes official action by two means: Ordinances and Resolutions. An Ordinance is a local law that usually regulates a person or property. Before it is effective, an Ordinance must go through required public steps and approvals. It can only be amended by passage of another Ordinance. Ordinances are indexed according to number, subject and date. The official file of Ordinances is maintained and preserved by the City Clerk.
