Most Junior Lifeguard days are spent in and around the waters of Mission Bay and the oceanfront by the Santa Clara Recreation Center. Throughout the program, JGs will visit other locations.

Santa Clara Recreation Center

Directions: Take Interstate 5 to Grand Avenue. Follow it west to Mission Boulevard. Take Mission Boulevard south to Santa Clara Place and turn left. Go straight until you reach the building immediately at the end of the road. The rec center is the middle building of the three located on the point.

La Jolla Cove (La Jolla Rocks Day)

Directions: From the north, take Interstate 5 south and exit La Jolla Village Drive westbound. Turn left on Torrey Pines Road at the signalized intersection. Follow Torrey Pines Road to the signalized intersection at Prospect Street and turn right. Watch for the signs and bear right on Coast Boulevard.

From the south, take Interstate 5 north to La Jolla Parkway. Continue on as it becomes Torrey Pines Road. Follow Torrey Pines Road to the signalized intersection at Prospect Street and turn right. Watch for the signs and stay right on Coast Boulevard.

La Jolla Shores

Directions: From the north, take Interstate 5 south and exit La Jolla Village Drive westbound. Turn left at the signalized intersection at Torrey Pines Road and follow it to the signalized intersection at La Jolla Shores Drive.

From the south, take Interstate 5 north and exit at La Jolla Parkway. Turn right at the signalized intersection at La Jolla Shores Drive, then turn left on the signalized intersection at Avenida de la Playa. Turn right on Camino del Oro.

Ocean Beach (OB Day/Pier Jump Day)

Directions: Take Interstate 8 westbound to the end, then take a left on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard. Take a right at the signalized intersection of Santa Monica Avenue and follow it to the beach.

South Mission Beach

Directions: From Interstate 5 exit at Sea World Drive, and go west. Take the West Mission Bay exit toward Mission Beach. Turn left on Mission Boulevard. At the south end of Mission Boulevard., turn right on San Diego Place.
