Online registration for Junior Lifeguards, and JGrommets will begin Saturday, March 9, 2019.
This year registration start times online will be staggered by age group:
- A Group registration (14-17 year olds): 8:00 a.m.
- B Group registration (12-13 year olds): 8:15 a.m.
- C Group registration (9-11 year olds): 8:30 a.m.
- Grommet registration (7-8 year olds): 8:45 a.m.
Please register for one session only. However, if the session you want is full, you may add your child's name to as many wait lists as you would like.
If you are unsure which age group your child will be in for the desired session, please email us at [email protected]with your child's date of birth so we can determine which age group you will register for.
Enrollment is limited and sessions are expected to fill quickly. We strongly recommend that you register as soon as possible during open registration to get your desired session.
Are you applying for the Scholarship Program? Scholarship applicants do not need to register online but do need to turn in a complete scholarship application packet to our Lifeguard Services office during the application period.
If you are new to online registration for the SDJG Program, you must first create an account for your family. Your account can be used for future registrations.
If you have registered online before and have new family members joining our program, you must add them to your existing account prior to registration. Sign in to update your existing account.
Due to the high volume of people attempting to register the first day, we strongly suggest you create/update your account prior to registration day.
Additionally, you can expedite the registration process by reviewing the class sessions prior to registration day.
Registering for Classes
To register for the San Diego Junior Lifeguards Program, go to our registration site at www.sdjrguards.org. We do NOT accept mail-in registration forms.
Tuition for one session is $525 (JGrommets is $199). There will be a non-refundable ACTIVENET transaction fee of $10.50 plus 2.625% per transaction (not per child). Payment will be due in full when you register and must be paid online.
PLEASE NOTE: Session vacancies will be filled from the wait list giving priority to those not registered in another session and in the order received. Therefore, if the session you wish to register for is full, please do not register your child/children for a session they are unable to attend. Instead, place them on the wait list for the desired session.

New students must attend a tryout.
If you haven't already done so, purchase your SDJG uniform.
At the end of the registration process, you are required to check a box to acknowledge and confirm that you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions of the waiver. You will not be able to complete the registration process until the waiver box has been checked and the waiver form printed.

||For written notice of cancellation received from day 44 to day 30 prior to the first day of the session.
||For written cancellations received from day 29 to day 2 prior to the first day of the session.
||No refund from two days (48 hours) prior to the first day of the session.
If a new applicant is unable to attend a tryout or is not able to pass the required swim test, the above refund policy will be imposed on requested cancellations. If a new applicant has concerns about passing the required swim test, the program recommends attending a tryout scheduled at least 45 days before the start of the enrolled session.
