Chess is played by over 600 million people and is the most popular game in the world. The San Diego Public Library recognizes the benefits of chess and offers the following locations where everyone can indulge in this ancient game.

Every Thursdays: 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
 
Open to everyone. A dynamic atmosphere that caters to players of all levels. Blitz tournaments are held on a quarterly basis. Downtown Chess is the biggest casual chess club in San Diego!

All levels of Chess experience are welcome - beginners to advanced. All ages, children and adults! Tournaments are held occasionally.

Let's play chess!  All ages and skill levels are welcome to play casual games in our relaxed setting. Please bring your own chess set if you have one; some sets will be provided.
