Tax Forms

The San Diego Public Library's Central Library (1st Floor) and the North University Community Library will have limited number of individual Federal and California State tax forms for the 2020 tax year. Due to IRS budget cuts, we will receive fewer IRS forms and instructions, with no schedules or related publications.

The Central Library will carry the following tax forms (1st Floor):

E-File
E-File is a fast and easy alternative to filing taxes by mail and some filers may be eligible to do it for free.  File taxes electronically online by visiting:

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) and TCE (Tax Counseling for the Elderly) provide free tax assistance to people with low to moderate incomes (VITA) and the elderly (TCE).
 
  • For taxpayers who made less than $72,000 in 2020, the IRS offers free online filing and preparation software for federal and state from their partners. Learn which options are available with their free online lookup tool.
  • Taxpayers who earned more than $72,000 in 2020 may file their federal taxes for free online using their Free File Fillable Forms.
