Holiday Schedule for City Offices and Services

Labor Day Holiday on Monday, Sept. 4, 2023

Please note the following impacts on City offices and services:



Trash Collection

ONE-DAY DELAY for curbside trash, recyclables, and organic waste.

Applicable to residents serviced by the City of San Diego only. Residents not serviced by the City of San Diego or residents of other cities, should check with their waste hauler for holiday service schedules.

The Miramar Landfill, Greenery and Recycling Center will be CLOSED on Monday, Sept. 4. Container sales will be CLOSED. For regular hours and questions, call 858-694-7000.



Parking

NOT ENFORCED 

  • Parking meters
  • Time restrictions for parking on streets
  • Yellow zones
  • Posted street-sweeping routes

ENFORCED AT ALL TIMES

  • Red zones
  • White zones
  • Blue zones

Applicable to City of San Diego only.  Parking rules on Port property and in different cities may vary so please read signage provided.



Library

All libraries will be CLOSED.



Parks & Recreation

Golf courses will be OPEN until dusk. Holiday rates will apply.

All City reservoirs except Barrett will be open to the public.

Chollas Lake will be OPEN, weather permitting.

Mission Trails Regional Park and Visitor Center will be OPEN.

All skate parks will be OPEN.

All public buildings in Balboa Park will be CLOSED including:

  • Balboa Park Activity Center
  • Morley Field
  • Municipal Gym

All City recreation centers and City pools will be CLOSED. 

Tecolote Nature Center will be CLOSED.



City Offices

All Administrative Offices will be CLOSED.

Development Services Department Virtual Counter appointments and inspection services will be CLOSED.

  • Online services will still be available, including scheduling inspections, making payments or requesting code enforcement investigations.
  • Check online permit processing timelines for intake, review and permit issuance.

The Personnel Department's Employment Information Center, Testing and Background/Fingerprinting offices will be CLOSED.

Your Safe Place - Family Justice Center will be CLOSED. Individuals needing help related to domestic violence should call 9-1-1 and/or the Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-888-385-4657. Anyone in immediate danger or experiencing a medical emergency should call 9-1-1.

Open Space and Maintenance Assessment District Offices will be CLOSED.



Public Safety

Police and Fire emergency crews will not be impacted.

Station 38 (Citywide emergency dispatch center) will be on duty.
