Did you know - approximately 30% of the residential waste entering the Miramar Landfill is recyclable green material? To promote green waste recycling, a discount is available on incoming loads of clean green waste, dry wood and lumber. The discount depends on the vehicle's size.

City of San Diego residents now benefit from the weekly collection of green material, such as food scraps, food-soiled paper and yard trimmings. The Greenery accepts recyclable green waste which is used to produce high-quality mulch, compost and wood chips that are available to the public. Greenery recycling is essential to prolonging the life of the landfill.
