New Permit Programs

The City of San Diego is working to address new regulations for Storm Water and other urban runoff required by the 2013 Municipal Storm Water Permit. The new regulations are included in the regional permit governing the operation and maintenance of the City's storm drain system. The new regulations also apply to other government agencies and have an impact on private property owners as well.

The City is leading and participating in several processes to develop new and updated programs required by the Permit in which the public may be interested. The following links will guide you to more information about the City's effort to address the new regulations and to comply with the conditions of the regional permit. This information is a general introduction to the important elements of storm water and runoff management in the years ahead.

There are three general areas of program development:
