Bonita Cove is located near South Mission Beach at 1100 West Mission Bay Drive and is separated into East and West for permit purposes.​

Bonita Cove can be permitted for up to 450 people and up to four (4) inflatables. This site has a large playground with a tot lot and there is access to the water with a lifeguard on duty. Fire rings, picnic tables and barbecue grills are also located at this park. There is a comfort station with a beach rinse-off shower.​

Smaller Picnic Shelter near the playground is first come first served and cannot be reserved. The Picnic Shelter off of Mariners Way can be reserved through the DRP Permit Center Office.
