In an effort to help control the spread of the Coronavirus, all sharps drop boxes located in police station lobbies are currently closed. The Household Hazardous Waste Facility is open by appointment only for disposal of home-generated sharps wastes.

Two syringesHome-generated sharps waste is defined as hypodermic needles, pen needles, intravenous needles, acupuncture needles, lancets and other devices that are used to penetrate skin. As of September 1, 2008, California State Law prohibits the disposal of home-generated sharps into any container used for trash, recycling or green waste.
